Every restaurant and bar community deals with sexual harassment and assault; both between staff and with guests. Creating a program that is run by the bar community and uses the knowledge and support of non-profits helps create long-term solutions that keep both staff and guests safe, creates a more welcoming environment and supports the community.
In this 45-minute session, Heart of Hospitality co-founders, Briana and Andrew Volk will teach attendees how they created a state-funded non-profit that trains bars and restaurants in their community on sexual assault prevention and bystander intervention. Attendees will learn how to utilize resources already available to them to create a program that will train and support the hospitality industry around them. Building these programs is one of the ways we can create long-term, positive solutions to preventing assault and harassment.
